The May 2023 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Licensure Exam Results Awaited: Expectations for Release of Passers, Topnotchers, and School Performance

May 31, 2023, 12:00 AM: PRC announced that 2,239 out of 7,376 (30.36%) successfully passed the May 2023 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Exam (CPALE). “The results of examination with respect to two (2) examinees were withheld pending completion of the remaining subjects in the licensure examination; and two (2) were withheld for validation of submitted documents.”


The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Board of Accountancy is set to release the results of the May 2023 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Licensure Exam, which will include the comprehensive list of successful candidates, the top 10 performers, and an assessment of schools' performances. The announcement is anticipated within five (5) working days following the conclusion of the exams.


Conducted from May 21-23, 2023, the CPA Licensure Exam took place across various testing centers in NCR, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Palawan, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga. The Board of Accountancy, headed by Chairman Noe G. Quiñanola, Vice-Chairman Samuel B. Padilla, and members Gloria T. Baysa, Thelma S. Ciudadano, Gervacio I. Piator, Maria Teresita Z. Dimaculangan, and Rosalinda D. Evangelista, oversaw the examination process.

Guide to CPALE Oath-Taking Ceremonies and Registration Process

Becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a significant milestone in one's professional career. After successfully passing the CPA Licensure Exam (CPALE) held in May 2023, it's important for candidates to familiarize themselves with the upcoming oath-taking ceremonies and registration procedures. All successful examinees interested in attending the face-to-face mass oath-taking are required to register no later than 12:00 NN of the day before the oath-taking date. To confirm attendance, visit http://online.prc.gov.ph and complete the registration process.


Required Documents:

On the day of the oath-taking ceremony, inductees must bring any of the following documents for verification purposes:

  • Vaccination Card
  • Negative RT-PCR test results taken within 48 hours prior to the oath-taking

Regional Registration:

Inductees are advised to register and confirm their attendance in the region where they took their licensure examination and plan to register as professionals.


Face-to-Face or Virtual Oath-Taking:

Registration Schedule:

The schedule for online appointments to obtain the Professional ID and Certificate of Registration for newly licensed Certified Public Accountants will be announced on the following date(s). Specific registration dates are yet to be confirmed.


Online Registration Process:

Initial registrants are encouraged to register online through the PRC official website at https://online.prc.gov.ph/. Follow the steps provided for online registration. Here are the required registration documents:

  • Notice of Admission/NOA (for identification purposes only)
  • Duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
  • Two (2) passport-sized ID photos on a white background with a complete name tag
  • Two (2) sets of documentary stamps
  • One (1) short brown envelope
  • Roster of Registered Professionals:

Successful examinees should personally register and sign in to the Roster of Registered Professionals.

Verification of Ratings:

A few days after the release of results, the verification of ratings and test results for the CPA licensure exams conducted by the PRC Board of Accountancy will be available online. Visit the PRC official website and utilize the Verification Page to know your board examination passing rate. Provide the exam name, date of examination, application number, first name, last name, and birthdate for verification.
